Quick Summary
- This event is a two stage tournament.
- Qualifying Brackets
- Top 8 Bracket
- The first stage of the event will be 4 qualifying brackets where the top 2 teams in each bracket will advance to the top 8
- The second stage will be a double elimination top 8 bracket where the top teams from each group bracket for the prizing
- Each qualifying bracket will be capped out at 16 teams maximum
- Teams that do not qualify in a bracket may enter future qualifying brackets
- Teams that qualify in a bracket may not enter future qualifying brackets
- Each crew battle will be in a 5v5 format with each player having 3 stocks
- Captains must check in with one another via the Discord server to confirm the starting of the match
Teams must be present and starting the crew battle within 15 minutes of the starting time
If a school is not ready to compete by that time, they will automatically take a loss for the battle and the winning team will receive a 7-0 victory in stocks - Before the start of each crew battle you must share the following information with the opposing team captain
This information must be exchanged simultaneously via Discord
Starting Lineup of player Names (5 players)
The 5 players from your team
Do not need character or order outside of first character
Starting Player
Who will be the first person starting in the crew battle and what character they will play
Participants may call a tournament organizer to assist in the process - After rosters have been exchanged, starting players may opt to ‘mutually agree’ to a specific stage.
If they do not want to do that, stages will be struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order determined by a coin flip.
If you need to do a coin flip, type .coin in any chat on the discord server - At the conclusion of each 1v1, the losing team will first state who their next player is and the winning team will then state their 2 stage bans from the list in rule section #9
There will be a 2 minute limit in timing for picking/striking stages in between matches
You may not change characters once you have played in a match in the crew battle - The new player coming in will then choose their stage choice from the remaining stages
- In the result of a timeout, the player with the least amount of stocks in the match will lose the remaining stocks and the other player will take the match win.
If the stocks are even, then the player with the lower % will take the remaining stocks and the match win - At the conclusion of a crew battle, the results must be posted on the Discord server
Stock total’s must be included as this will determine tiebreakers - In the event a new character is released during the week of a bracket, they will not be available for that bracket. However, they will be made available the following week
Ex: Sora comes out on a Tuesday, Sora is not available the upcoming Wednesday Sora then becomes available next Saturday (or for next week’s bracket)
Characters are subject to not being allowed if a major bug/glitch is present at time of competition

- In order to participate in the event, you must be a current full-time student as recognized by your respective school or university
If at any time you are found to not be a current full-time student, you will be immediately removed from the roster and not allowed to participate.
Your team is also subject to disqualification at the discretion of the tournament organizer - You may only compete for one team for the entirety of a semesterly circuit
- Your team must have a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 8 people
Any of these players may play in any crew battle - You may not add or remove players once you have signed up for a qualifying bracket
If you qualify for top 8, your roster may not add/remove anyone for the rest of the event
A player may only be part of 1 team over the course of a season
A player may not be removed from a team and then re-added at a future date, once they are removed they are not allowed back onto another team - Each player must reside in the United States or Canada while participating
- Players and captains must act in a responsible manner throughout the entire event and any toxicity will not be tolerated at all.
- If there is any toxicity present, players (and teams) will be subject to immediate disqualification at the direction of the head tournament organizer.
- A LAN adapter is required for play, however in the result of a lag check priority will be given to those with the most consistent connection
- In the result of lag during a match, the two opponents will immediately end their match and request a tournament organizer to assist.
The match MUST be ended within the first 30 seconds of the match if there is lag present.
If it is not ended within this timeframe, it has the possibility of being counted
If there is lag present after the first 30 seconds, there is a possibility the game will be reset to the same stock and % if the lag check determines both players are clear
The tournament organizer will then utilize the Sable Detect Software to determine the status of the connection of both participants
From there, the tournament organizer will have the sole decision on the next steps and whether or not any players need to be disqualified due to inconsistent internet connection
An inconsistent internet connection is defined as:
Multiple flags on the SableDetect software or high ping numbers
Case by case basis
Internet speeds must have at least 3 upload and 10 download as designated by the Nintendo Switch speed test
If a player is disqualified due to lag, that player will lose all of their currently remaining stocks irrelevant of the previous games they were involved with. - If a player is found to disconnect in the middle of the match (match ends by connection error and one player specifically is no longer in the lobby), they will lose the current stock they were just on in the crew battle and continue from there once they have reconnected
- Check the bracket for your opponents and who their captain’s are
- Reach out to the opposing team captain via message
- Figure out who will host the lobby with preference going towards those who are streaming
Share lobby info, don’t forget to set the timer to 10 minutes! - Share your rosters at the same time via discord message
What 4 players are playing
Who is starting - Captains will discuss stage selection as laid out in section 9
If you need to do a coin flip, type .coin in any chat on the discord server - Both starters go into the lobby and play their match
Keep track of how many stocks each person takes (and keep track of the score as a whole) - At the conclusion of the match, the losing player’s team will tell the opposing team’s captain their next player
- The person who is the ‘winner’ from the last match will ban 2 stages from the stage selection in section 9
- The person coming into the lobby will select the stage
- These are played out until 0 stocks are left on one side
- Keep track of the score (use the example in the #results channel)
