Rules & Procedures

Prior to competing in this tournament’s Grand Finale for the $5,000, $3,000 and $1,000 scholarship prizes ($9,000 in total) for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively, Participants, at no cost to them, agree to submit to an investigative background check. Based on the results of the background check, Brag House, and/or subsidiaries or affiliated companies may refuse to permit a Participant from competing in the Grand Finale or to award a Participant with any prize. In particular, Brag House, and/or subsidiaries or affiliated companies will not permit any Participant to proceed in the Tournament or be awarded any prize if they are (a) not currently enrolled in a college, university or community college in Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas or Southern California, (b) graduated prior to Fall Semester of 2023 or (c) they have been found to engage in Negative Behavior. For purposes of these Rules and Procedures, Negative Behavior means any action or statement (including social media posts) by Participant that brings such Participant into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule, or that shocks or offends the community or any group or class thereof, or that reflects unfavorably on Brag House, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and/or subsidiaries or affiliated companies or their respective products or promotions. By participating in the Tournament, you agree that Brag House, and/or subsidiaries or affiliated companies shall determine what may be deemed as Negative Behavior in its sole discretion.

The three winners of the Grand Finale of this tournament agree to take part in reasonable publicity in connection with this Tournament and prizes, as reasonably requested, including a mandatory travel to the nearest McDonald’s restaurant to their college campus at a date that will be agreed upon by the winner, Brag House and the McDonald’s Owner Operator of the specific McDonald’s restaurant. Winners agree that the date for the mandatory travel will take place no earlier than Sunday, November 19, 2023 and no later than Sunday, December 17, 2023. The expenses for such travel will be provided by Coca-Cola and/or McDonald’s. During such travel, a ceremony will be held where the winner will be able to accept the tournament trophy and large scholarship check (please see “Additional prizes disclosures” in connection with how the scholarship funds will be distributed). By accepting and receiving any prize, the winners therefore agree to travel and further agree to release and hold harmless Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Brag House and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Tournament, including all travel, or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

Participants agree that Brag House Inc., its parent, subsidiaries, franchisees and affiliated companies, and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, will have no liability whatsoever for, are released and shall be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in this contest or contest-related activities and except where legally prohibited, winner grants (and agree to confirm that grant in writing) permission to Brag House Inc. and those acting under Brag House Inc.’s authority the right to the use of his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, image and biographical information and statements and the entry for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.

Participants agree that Sponsors, McDonald’s Operators Association of Southern California, Western Washington Operators Association, Oregon Business Unit, Southern Plains Operators Association, Tri-State McDonald’s Operators Association (Spokane), Tri-State McDonald’s Operators Association (Yakima), McDonald’s USA, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, are released and shall be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in this contest or contest-related activities and except where legally prohibited, winner grants (and agree to confirm that grant in writing) permission to Sponsor and those acting under Sponsor’s authority the right to the use of his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, image and biographical information and statements and the entry for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.

Participants agree that Sponsors, The Coca-Cola Company, its parent, subsidiaries, franchisees and affiliated companies, and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, will have no liability whatsoever for, are released and shall be held harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in this contest or contest-related activities and except where legally prohibited, winner grants (and agree to confirm that grant in writing) permission to Sponsor and those acting under Sponsor’s authority the right to the use of his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, image and biographical information and statements and the entry for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval.

By participating in this event, to the extent permitted by applicable law, players agree to release and hold harmless Epic Games, Inc., its licensors, its and their affiliates, and its and their employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors, and other representatives from all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, and expenses related to the event.

This event is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or otherwise associated with, Epic Games, Inc. The information players provide in connection with this event is being provided to event organizer and not to Epic Games, Inc. Additional prizes disclosures
If you are one of the three winners of this tournament (based on the eligibility and criteria described above), the $5,000, $3,000 or $1,000 scholarship for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively will be distributed to your college. Your college will be informed that the scholarship has been granted in connection to your student standing.

By the time or after the tournament starts, additional prizes to the three winners may be added. If that is the case, this sign-up will be updated accordingly and student gamers that have already signed-up will receive an email from Brag House with an update.

Brag Bucks (“BB”)
BB are Brag House’s non-monetary in-app currency that, among multiple functionalities, allows you to engage with Brags (game-stat predictions) to win bragging rights, Loyalty Tokens and other prizes!

Conduct

  • Good sportsmanship is important. Please prioritize showing respect towards your opponents in all situations.
  • Profanity, hate speech, or any other highly inappropriate actions directed at anyone within the Brag House community will result in disqualification from the tournament.
  • Showing up for games is extremely important and ensures that everyone has a positive experience. Failure to show up for your matches will result in disqualification from the tournament.
  • Brag House reserves the right to change, add, or modify these policies as they deem appropriate

Forfeits
Gamers may not voluntarily forfeit a Match without prior authorization from Tournament Administrators. Gamers that forfeit without a notice or forfeit with too short of a notice will be subject to possible consequences such as a temporary pause from participating in future tournaments and/or featuring their stream on the Brag House platform.

Disconnections
Generally speaking, Disconnections are handled as follows:

  • If gamers disconnect before a game starts or as the game is loading in, we will remake the game.
  • If gamers disconnect during a game, play continues. The disconnected gamer may attempt to rejoin the lobby.
  • If the entire lobby crashes at any point in the game, we will rematch the game.

Sportsmanship Clause:
We strongly encourage you to communicate with us regarding technical issues. Brag House reserves the right to review situations with technical issues and request that the match be rescheduled/replayed if it appears that one or both parties is attempting to force a Loss on their opponent.

Cheating:
Cheating is explicitly prohibited and can be defined as any of the following:

  • Using any mods or modifying your game in a way that either violates the Game Developers’ terms of service or gives the gamer a competitive advantage.
  • Intentionally using/abusing in-game bugs
  • Having a gamer of a higher skill level play on your behalf on your account
  • If you are found to be cheating at any point, you will be removed from the Tournament and potentially banned from future events.

Please note, Brag House reserves the rights to update and modify the Rules and Procedures of this tournament at its sole discretion.
